Play the pads, then build a loop in the grid and press Play.
How this works
- Pads: click or press the key shown. Hit the lower half of a pad for a harder hit.
- Grid: each row is a drum, each column a 16th note. Click squares to add or remove hits.
- Tempo / Swing: swing delays every other 16th for a looser groove. Tune and Decay reshape the whole kit.
- Real drums: drop an audio file on a pad (or double-click it) to swap in your own recording.
- Hi-hats choke: a closed hat cuts off an open one, like a real pedal.

Load a track on each deck, SYNC the tempos, then crossfade between them.
How this works
- Load: pick a built-in Demo… or load / drag in your own audio file. BPM is auto-guessed — fix it in the BPM box or by tapping TAP in time.
- SYNC speeds this deck up or down to match the other deck's current tempo.
- Waveform: click to jump. White lines are beats. The red line is the playhead.
- Hot cues: press an empty one to save the spot, press again to jump back. Right-click clears it.
- Loop: 1/2/4/8 beats from the playhead; press again to release.
- Platter: drag to nudge (playing) or scrub (stopped). Brake is a vinyl stop.
- Filter: left of centre is low-pass (muffled), right is high-pass (thin). EQ cuts to −30 dB.

Crossfader ←→Fill a pad with a file, your mic, or a resample — then trigger it with keys 1–8.
How this works
- Load: pick a file or drag one onto a pad.
- ● Mic: press to record, press again to stop. Your browser will ask for mic permission.
- ● Resample: records whatever DarkDeck is playing (drums, decks, FX) — then you can pitch and reverse it.
- Pitch shifts in semitones. Loop repeats until you press the pad again.
- Made a sound in the SFX Maker? Send it here.
Pick a preset, tweak the sliders, then save it or send it to a sampler pad.
How this works
- Presets (keys 1–8) are starting points — everything is synthesised, nothing is sampled.
- Pitch sets where it starts and how it slides; Jump adds a sudden pitch step (the “coin” sound).
- Envelope: attack = fade-in, sustain = hold, decay = fade-out.
- Noise waveform makes explosions, hits and whooshes. Low-pass/high-pass shape the tone.
- Randomise for new ideas; Mutate nudges what you have into a variation.
