SafelightSlow Future
The future learned to slow down. Melodic, string-lit sets beamed back from a century that still spins vinyl — blended by Safelight, developed in the dark.

Liner notes
I learned my timing in a darkroom. A safelight, three trays and a ticking clock taught me to wait for the image, to judge the moment by eye, and to trust the process. Those habits walked out of the dark with me and into the digital world, and they still shape how I build a set.
Dre Darkroom started life as a beat-driven DJ with a photography-and-music fusion slowly developing on the side. That fusion is what you are looking at now: sets that are shot, framed and sequenced the way a good print is exposed. In spring 2015 one of those mixes was the winning entry in the Prohibition competition.
Behind the decks I answer to two names. Safelight is the calm one: progressive, melodic sets built on strings and soft harmonies, smooth from the first blend to the last. SquidgySqueegee is the B-side, named for the rubber blade that wipes a wet print: bouncy, light and full of fun, all electroswing brass and electro wiggle.
If your night needs a slow glow or a swing in its step, put it on my deck.
